Saltdal Turistsenter

Saltdal Turistsenter opened on 9th of March 1990 and is located in “The Green Valley” in Saltdal Kommune, more specifically at Storjord, i Northern Norway. We are a natural stopover for passersby, tourists and locals.

Storjord usually has little rainfall, in 1999 it was registered 99mm! This is the lowest measurement since around 1860, when they started to officially record rainfall in Norway.

Junkerdalsura which begins right beside us is a canyon with rich flora, including Marisko orchid. In the area there are organized nature-, culture- and hiking trails with disabled facilities. There are also set up picnic areas, gap hatch and landscaped camp sites. Several hanging bridges connect the trail system and provide walking possibilities in several directions.
